This week, the overall market capitalization for the top 100 cryptocurrencies decrease of 2.11%, with 70 projects decreased in value to varying degrees. According to coinmarketcap, as of August 25th, 2019, the total market cap of cryptocurrencies was 267.67 billion U.S. dollars, decreased by 2.11%, and the total market cap of the top 100 cryptocurrencies was 260.09 billion U.S. dollars, decreased by 2.39% from last week. 3 cryptocurrency projects entered the top 100 this week, namely OSC, ATP, BDX.

As of August 25th, 2019, Bitcoin was traded at 10138.52 USD, 2.37% lower than its price last week. Ethereum was traded at 186.84 USD, decreased by 4.43%. This week, the overall market capitalization for the top 100 cryptocurrencies increased by 5.41%. Among TOP 100 cryptocurrency project segments, the total market cap of application class projects received the largest decrease and the average market cap of platform class projects received the largest decrease. The market segment distribution of the top 100 cryptocurrencies remained stable.

This week, the Hashrate of Bitcoin and the Hashrate of Ethereum both decreased. The difficulty of mining Bitcoin increased and the difficulty of mining Ethereum decreased. The average number of transactions per block of Bitcoin and the average block size of Bitcoin both increased. The average number of transactions per block of Ethereum and the average block size of Ethereum increased. The average transaction fees of Bitcoin decreased, and the average transaction fees of Ethereum increased. INS was the most active project on GitHub this week.

Bitcoin’s Hashrate was 72.14EH/s, decreased by 3.12% from last week and Ethereum’s Hashrate was 172.674TH/s, decreased by 3.28% from last week. The difficulty of mining Bitcoin was 10.13T, increased by 1.46% from last week. The average difficulty of mining Ethereum this week was 2220.41TH, decreased by 3.65% from that of previous week. The number of mined blocks in Bitcoin’s entire network was 1050, increased 4.79%. Ethereum’s entire network mined 46017 blocks, increased 0.95%.

In network activity, the average number of transactions per block of Bitcoin and the average block size of Bitcoin increased. The average number of transactions per block of Ethereum and the average block size of Ethereum increased this week. According to blockchain.info, from August 19th, 2019-August 25th, 2019, the average size of each block was 1.07MB, increased 4.90%; there were on average 2198 transactions recorded in each block, increased by 1.01% from the previous week. According to etherscan data, the average size of each block was 21253 bytes, increased by 4.83% compared to last week. There were on average 111.58 transactions recorded in each block, increased 4.39%. As of August 25th, 2019, the average transaction fees on the Bitcoin network this week was $0.755, decreased by 30.54% from last week. The average transaction fees on the Ethereum network this week was $0.142, increased by 60.09% from last week. Total number of addresses on the Blockchain and Ethereum network reached 41.39 million and 71.99 million, increased 0.84 million(0.20%) and 0.53(0.75%) million respectively. INS was the most active project on GitHub this week, with 254 commits submitted in the past week.

In terms of community activity, Torn, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the most popular communities on Facebook. On Twitter, the most popular communities are Bitcoin, Ripple and Tron.

Two investment activities took place in the blockchain industry this week, led by Blocko received $7.5 million B+ round investment from Shinhan Bank and KEB Hana Bank.
